Doctors

Dr Chris Whitworth

Senior Partner

MBBS 1988, MRCGP 1992
Dr Whitworth was a trainee GP here at the surgery in 1991 and has been a partner since 1993. He studied at St Mary’s Hospital in London.

He has a grown up family and enjoys anything and everything around the sea – boating, diving and swimming.

Dr Rob White

GP Partner

MRCP Oct 2004, DFFP Apr 2003, DRCOG Apr 2002, MBBS 1997, Bcc 1989
Dr White studied at the University College Hospital Middlesex School of Medicine and started at the surgery in 2003. He is also the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall Clinical Lead for Urgent Care and Primary Care and he is also involved in patient care with The Acute GP and Out of Hours teams.

He enjoys Minor Surgery and Urgent Care within the practice and when he has spare time he enjoys spending this with his grown up family, cycling and running the roads of Cornwall and fixing up classic cars

Dr Pallav Verma

GP Partner

MRCGP, MC, BS, BSs, AICSM
Dr Verma studied at Imperial College London and started at the surgery in 2010, he became a partner in 2014. 

He enjoys all aspects of General Practice and in his spare time he enjoys running (slowly!) and spending time with his young boys

Dr Bridgitte Wesson

GP Partner

MBChb, MRCP, MRCGP, DFSRH
Dr Wesson studied at the University of Bristol. She started at the surgery in 2014 and became a partner in 2018.

She enjoys Preventative Health, Women’s Health, Dementia Care and Eldercare. She is married with 3 teenage children and in her spare time enjoys running, swimming and yoga.

Dr Clem Mitchell

GP Partner

BA (Medical Science) 2006, MB BS 2009, MRCGP 2016
Dr Mitchell started at the practice in 2015 and became a partner in 2018. He studied at Oxford University and University College London. He has a particular interest in dermatology, minor surgery and cardiovascular disease prevention.

He lives with his wife and three young children and enjoys running, surfing, gardening and keeping up with practicing his guitar playing.

He is proud to be a local GP in the community and he wants to be part of a practice that offers a high level of support to those who need help with their mental or physical health.

Dr Rebecca Hopkins

GP Salaried

MBChB 2003, DRCOG 2009, MRCGP 2010
Dr Hopkins studied at the University of Leicester and started at St Agnes Surgery in 2018. She is also the Referral Management Service Operational Lead. 

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and in her spare time she likes hiking, cycling, beach yoga, kayaking, screen printing and music

Dr Michael Aldridge

GP Salaried

BSc Human Physiology, MBBS, MRCGP
Dr Aldridge studied at University of Leeds and University of East Anglia and started as a salaried GP at the surgery in August 2023. He has a particular interest in eldercare and frailty medicine, he also looks after the residents of the Karenza Care Home.

He enjoys everything outdoors – swimming, trail running, surfing, cycling and spending time on the beach or in the sea.

Dr Katy Bellis

MBChB 2014, MRCGP 2020
Dr Bellis studied at the University of Birmingham and started at the surgery in 2019 as a GP trainee for a year and on completion of her training started as one of the salaried GPs in 2020.

She enjoys spending time with friends and family and walking on the coastal paths. She loves the beach, the Cornish food scene and trying new restaurants on her time off.

Nursing (Adult) BSc (Hons) – 2020 Postgraduate Certificate in Fundamentals of General Practice Nursing 2024
Amy started at the surgery in early 2023 and studied at UWE Bristol and Plymouth University. She has a background of working on a respiratory ward in Treliske, so enjoy everything respiratory! She also enjoys wound care; seeing a wound heal over time is a very satisfying part of our job.  

When she isn’t working she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and black Labrador Myah. 

Charlotte Lewis

Nursing Associate

FdSc Nursing & Human Sciences
Charlotte studied at Teeside University and started at the surgery in 2023. She has worked in a nursing team since 2010 as a phlebotomist and healthcare assistant and then studied in 2018 to become a Nursing Associate. She has a particular interest in wound care and women’s health.

She has a young family and two naughty sausage dogs. She loves spending time gardening and dogs walking and leisure time with her family and friends.

Practice Team

Tracey King

Practice Manager

Tracey has worked at the surgery since 2006.  She started as a part-time receptionist and worked her way up through the practice holding the roles of:  Receptionist/Deputy Reception Manager/Administrator/Deputy Practice Manager.

She is married with a daughter who is currently at University and she loves spending time with her family, cycling and taking long coastal walks with her sprocker spaniel.

Leah Streete

Deputy Practice Manager

Leah started at the surgery in 2021 as a receptionist and then moved to a Clinical and Management Support Administration role and became the Deputy Practice Manager in Spring 2023.

She really enjoys a good spreadsheet, quality assurance and is always available and approachable to all of the team as well as giving the Practice Manager her full support with the day to day running of this busy practice.

Leah has a grown up son at university and a younger school age son, she enjoys playing the piano and the fiddle, listening to music, reading and lots of wet and windy dog walks.

Melanie Morrish

Reception Manager

Melanie started at the surgery in early 2024.  She is responsible for the day to day running of the busy reception team and all that their role involves.

Andrea

Administration Support

Andrea started at the surgery in 2022 and has worked as the Reception Manager. 

Since 2024 she has worked in the Administration Team managing all the rotas for the multitude of clinicians, managing the well-woman smears and recalls and various other tasks supporting the smooth running of the practice.

Andrea enjoys time with her family.

Megan

Administration Support

Megan started at the surgery in 2022 and codes all incoming letters and correspondence so the patient has the correct diagnosis or the correct procedure coded in their records. She also will make a summary of new patient records to ensure they are coded and ready for the GP.

Megan enjoys home renovations.
